Preparing for a photo shoot requires planning and attention to detail, both visually and organizationally. You should take care of your appearance, clothes, accessories, as well as communication with the photographer and your own well-being.
Appearance: Do not perform invasive cosmetic procedures before the session, as a result of which irritations, pimples, bruising, etc. may appear on the skin. Avoid artificial eyelash extensions because they often give the impression of closed eyes and heavy eyelids, which looks bad in photos. If you want to emphasize your beauty, it is better to invest in a professional make-up artist. Take care of moisturizing your skin, e.g. apply a moisturizing mask to your face and get a good night's sleep. ☺️
Hair: Make sure your hairstyle is fresh and matches your style and the nature of the session. Consider visiting a hairdresser before the session.
Nails: Take care of a manicure and pedicure, during the session it is common to pose with your hands or barefoot. Natural, well-groomed nails or subtle colors work best: white, beige, French manicure. Stronger colors that I recommend are red and black.
Body: Take care of your general well-being, avoid stimulants and try to get enough sleep.
Outfit and accessories: Choose clothes that you feel comfortable in and that match the theme of the session. Avoid prints, inscriptions and large logos, and opt for classic, timeless styles. Do not wear tight underwear, a bra, socks, etc. to avoid unnecessary marks on the skin on the day of the session. Accessories such as jewelry, scarves, hats or other elements can diversify the photos. Take a few options with you so that you can change them. Underwear: Choose appropriate underwear, preferably flesh-colored, so that it does not stand out under clothing. Consider bringing a hairbrush as a just incase for the shoot.
Organization: Discuss your expectations, style, inspirations and ideas with me. Prepare a mood board or sample photos that you like. Planning your time: Set aside enough time for the session to avoid stress and rushing. Practice posing in front of the mirror to feel more confident during the session.
During the session: Be yourself: Enjoy the session and try to be natural. Remember that I will help you with posing and correct any imperfections. Avoid excessive tension and try to enjoy the session. A photoshoot is fun, so open yourself to new experiences and experiment with poses.
